Nestor Cables Baltics' production in Estonia has moved from Keila to Tabasalu. On January 16, 2025, a grand opening event was held at the Tabasalu factory. In addition to the Estonian staff, Nestor Cables' management team and Cheri Beranek, President and CEO of Clearfield, Inc., the owner of Nestor Cables, were present.
The official ribbon cutting took place at 1 p.m., followed by opening speeches by CEO of Nestor Cables OY Jarmo Rajala, Clearfield, Inc. President and CEO Cheri Beranek and Estonian Site Manager Karel Harju. The event continued with entertainment activities.
The new factory is significantly larger than the Keila factory. It measures 7700 square meters, while the old factory was only 2120 square meters. The new warehouse yard is over 3000 m2. In January 2025, the number of employees at the Tabasalu factory is 56.
The address of the new factory is Harku tee 63, Tabasalu alevik, Harku vald 76901, Harju maakond, Estonia.
The process to transfer production began in 2023 when Nestor Cables OY with future growth plans in mind decided to make bigger investments to Nestor Estonia unit and new microduct and microduct bundle production lines were acquired. However, the Keila factory did not have space to set up new lines or expand the production of NesCon products.
A new factory for rent suitable for Nestor's future vision, whose owner was willing to expand the factory, was soon found in Tabasalu. In the spring and summer of 2023, preparatory work was carried out at the new factory and new lines were installed. By the end of the year, the production lines were ready and the factory expansion was complete. By the end of 2024, the production from the Keila factory moved fully over to the Tabasalu factory.
Nestor Cables Baltics is a subsidiary of Nestor Cables, operating in Estonia. Since 2017, Nestor Cables Baltics has connectorized fibre optic cables, assembled fibre optic panels and manufacturing microducts and microduct bundles products for Nestor Cables.
